Call for Immediate Action to Free Political Prisoners Facing Execution

The regime’s judiciary has sentenced political prisoner Ehsan Faridi, a 25-year-old student at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Tabriz, to death for supporting the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) and based on the clerical regime’s fabricated charge of “corruption on earth.”

Ehsan Faridi was arrested on June 18, 2024, and, following interrogation by the Ministry of Intelligence, was transferred to Tabriz Central Prison. He was subsequently sentenced to death in a show trial held in Branch 2 of the Tabriz Revolutionary Court, presided over by the notorious Judge Abdi. The sole basis for this criminal verdict was the reports provided by interrogators and torturers from the Ministry of Intelligence.

The Iranian Resistance once again urges the international community to take urgent action to save the life of Ehsan Faridi and other political prisoners facing execution and to press for their immediate release.
