A majority of Yemen’s Senate has declared its support for the Ten-Point Plan of Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and joined the international campaign to designate Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist entity and recognize the right of the PMOI-led Resistance Units to confront it.
The statement was signed by Dr. Ahmed Obeid bin Dagher, Speaker of the Senate, Azaldin bin Abdul Salam Al-Ansi, Secretary General, Abdullah Ali Al-Alwa, and a majority of Yemen’s upper house members.
The signatories condemned the Iranian regime’s destabilizing interventions across the region, emphasizing that despite losing hegemony in Lebanon, the rapid collapse of Syria’s dictatorship, and being forced into retreat elsewhere, Tehran continues to fuel wars because its survival is inseparable from regional aggression.

“Only a firm policy can contain this warmongering,” the statement reads. “Appeasement encourages the regime’s terrorism and raises the risk of a nuclear crisis.”
Highlighting the Iranian people’s rejection of both monarchy and the current theocracy during the 2022 uprising, the Senate affirmed support for the NCRI’s platform, which calls for “no to compulsory hijab, no to religious compulsion, no to dictatorship,” and an end to executions.
The senators warned that the IRGC must be designated as a terrorist organization, and the right of the Resistance Units of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) to confront the IRGC must be recognized.

They cited the deteriorating human rights situation inside Iran, including at least 1,000 executions in 2024 and death sentences for nine political prisoners affiliated with the PMOI. The statement emphasized that the Iranian regime has blocked all avenues for peaceful political activity, making the people’s right to resist a necessity.
“The Iranian Resistance, with its democratic platform and Mrs. Rajavi’s Ten-Point Plan offers a viable roadmap for ending religious dictatorship and ensuring peace and coexistence in the region,” the Senate stated.
In June 2024, more than 4,000 lawmakers and over 130 former presidents and prime ministers from across the world endorsed the same plan. Yemen’s Senate called on all governments to do the same.
