In a strong bipartisan statement of support, the majority of North Carolina’s Legislature announced its backing of the popular uprising in Iran.

According to these state lawmakers, the American people support the desire of the Iranian people for a democratic republic based on the separation of religion and state and a non-nuclear Iran. This solidarity is evident in the overwhelming support of the United States House of Representatives for Resolution 100 in the 118th Congress, which has already garnered the signature of 237 House Representatives from both sides of the aisle.

According to this statement, the people of Iran have been deprived of their basic freedoms and as evident in their protest slogans, they reject both the monarchial dictatorship and religious tyranny.

Mrs. Rajavi’s 10-point plan, which calls for free elections, gender equality, religious and ethnic equality, a foreign policy based on peaceful coexistence, and a non-nuclear Iran, is a Jeffersonian plan and deserves the support of every American, North Carolina’s Legislature statement announced.
