Iran: Arrest of Mr. Ali Alipour, Father of Martyred PMOI Member Babak Alipour

On Tuesday, 20 October 2026, around 8:00 AM, the regime’s repressive forces arrested Mr. Ali Alipour, the father of martyred PMOI member Babak Alipour, at his residence in Rasht and transferred him to the detention center known as “Shohada-e Gomnam” (Anonymous Martyrs). They also confiscated all electronic devices and mobile phones belonging to Mr. Alipour and other family members.
Rouzbeh Alipour, Babak’s brother, was also arrested in February 2026 and has been held in limbo for nine months. Rouzbeh was initially detained in Fashafuyeh Prison (the Greater Tehran Central Penitentiary) and is currently being held in Ward 37, Unit 3 of Qezel Hesar Prison.
Heroic PMOI members Babak Alipour and Pouya Ghobadi were executed and attained martyrdom in Qezel Hesar Prison on 31 March 2026.
The ruling religious fascism in Iran is taking revenge for Babak’s steadfastness and unwavering stance by arresting and pressuring the Alipour family. The regime’s henchmen deprived the family of visiting and bidding farewell to Babak before his execution, refused to hand over his body, and after seven months, have still not informed the family of his burial place.
On 11 October 2026, the Secretariat of the National Council of Resistance of Iran announced the names of 12 recent detainees, stating that the ruling religious fascism in Iran, terrified of the youth embracing rebellious youths and Resistance Units, is continuing the arbitrary arrests of families and supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) in various cities alongside its relentless wave of executions.
The Iranian Resistance once again calls on the United Nations and relevant international human rights bodies to take immediate and effective action to secure the release of Mr. Ali Alipour, Rouzbeh Alipour, and other arrested family members of PMOI activists.
