Tehran, February 15, 2025 – The protests at Tehran University have entered their second day following the killing of student Amir Mohammad Khaleqi by repressive security forces. On Saturday, several students gathered in front of the university’s central library, expressing their anger and protest against the continued repression and mistreatment of their peers.

The protests, which began on Friday, were met with violent intervention from security forces, resulting in clashes that led to the arrest of at least two students. Additionally, another student sustained a severe injury, suffering a broken nose due to a brutal assault by security forces.

Despite the brutal crackdown, students once again took to the streets today, reaffirming their determination to continue protesting until their demands are met. The demonstrators chanted powerful slogans against repression and denounced the complicity of university security with the regime’s security apparatus. The atmosphere remains tense, with heightened security measures around the university campus.

According to reports, the manager of the boys’ dormitory resigned under pressure from the protesters. The students still demand accountability for this heinous act by the regime’s security forces.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), condemned the violence against students and expressed her support for the student protests. She called for the expansion of demonstrations against the Iranian regime, emphasizing that the blood of slain students will not be in vain and that the resistance will persist until the dictatorship is overthrown.

Fearing that the protests might spread beyond the university, the Iranian authorities have intensified security measures around the campus. Reports indicate that plainclothes forces have been deployed to suppress any new student movements. However, students remain resolute, declaring that their protests will continue until justice is served for Amir Mohammad Khaleqi and all victims of the regime.
