In fear of the continuation of the uprising, the clerical regime continues the detention of the youth. Mehr News agency reported on October 4 that after a four-hour visit to Greater Tehran prison and a three-hour visit to Evin Prison, Ali Salehi, Tehran’s General and Revolutionary Prosecutor, said, “There is no tolerance for those rioters who acted against national security and undermined order and security of the people. Decisive judicial action will be taken with firmness, and the case of these people will be investigated in a special and rapid manner at the Tehran Prosecutor’s Office and will be submitted to the court.”

State-run website Entekhab quoted Hajar Chenarani, a member of the regime’s parliament, on October 5 as saying, “Most of those arrested in this province during recent events in the country are 14 to 18 years old”.

Referring to the arrests, Fars news agency quoted Mohammadreza Mirtajuddini, another member of the parliament, on October 1 regarding the arrests as saying: “We will pursue this issue through the parliament with institutions such as Radio and Television so that once again a cleansing is done in this country in a revolutionary manner.”
