Tehran, February 14, 2025 – A wave of student protests erupted in the male dormitory of Tehran University following the killing of a student by the regime’s oppressive forces. The demonstrations began on Friday, with students expressing their outrage over the crime, chanting slogans such as “The blood that is spilled cannot be wiped away.”

The protests are still ongoing and have gained widespread attention due to reports of violent confrontations. According to eyewitnesses, security forces in plain clothes attempted to suppress the demonstration, with reports of some students being abducted. In one significant incident, students confronted security agents who physically assaulted a female student. The assailants were forced to flee in the face of student resistance, as protesters chanted, “Come out if you dare!”

In response to the growing demonstrations, authorities closed the entrance to the dormitory. More than 100 plainclothes security personnel and suppressive forces were deployed inside the campus, with reports of several students being arrested. Amid these escalating tensions, the protesters issued an urgent call for Tehran residents to march toward the university in support.

The situation intensified when students managed to capture an intelligence agent inside the dormitory. However, the agent escaped with the help of university security personnel and fled to Kargar Street outside the campus.

Amid the turmoil, students continued chanting slogans such as “The university security is colluding with the regime’s guards—You are our killers!”—a reflection of the deep mistrust between students and university security, who are accused of collaborating with intelligence agencies.

During the protests, security forces attempted to arrest a student, but the demonstrators, who were large in number, insisted on his release. Faced with persistent resistance and continued chants, the authorities were forced to set him free.

The situation at the university remains extremely tense, with an increasing presence of security forces surrounding the campus. Eyewitnesses confirm that the Iranian regime fears the protests could spill over into the streets of Tehran, potentially triggering a larger popular uprising.

These latest demonstrations reflect the growing frustration among Iranian students, who are becoming bolder in confronting repression despite the regime’s violent efforts to silence them.
