Mid-Term Session Of The National Council Of Resistance Of Iran On The Eve Of The Sham Elections Of The Mullahs’ Regime
For 43 years, the people and the Resistance of Iran have not recognized the slightest legitimacy in the regime’s sham election, considering them tools in the hands of oppressive rulers to perpetuate their rule.

On the eve of the election show of the regime, the mid-term session of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) was held on February 26 and 27, 2024, with the presence of Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the NCRI. Mrs. Rajavi emphasized the determined will of the nation and Resistance regarding the nationwide boycott of the sham election and stated that since June 20, 1981, the Iranian people and Resistance of Iran have not considered the regime’s sham elections legitimate, viewing them as tools in the hands of oppressive rulers. They label the regime’s candidates as traitors to Iran and the Iranian people.

She added that the era of the regime’s internal reformist faction has come to an end for years, and once again, Ali Khamenei has made the candidates of this faction pass through the filter of the Guardian Council. The intensification of uprisings and resistance has exacerbated the regime’s crises to the extent that Khamenei has had to eliminate significant portions of his own faction. He aims to maintain the regime by tightening control and suppressing any form of dissent.

The NCRI session described the regime’s parliamentary and Assembly of Experts elections as the most scandalous in its history, facing a decisive boycott. Khamenei seeks to complete the uniformity of the system, which he initiated two years ago with the appointment of Ebrahim Raisi, by purifying the parliament and Assembly of Experts. However, the regime has no solution to overcome or control the resistance and popular uprisings.

The session emphasized, as announced by the Iranian Resistance on October 7, “Anyone seeking peace in the Middle East must target the ‘snake’s head,’ which is the religious fascism ruling in Tehran, and regarding the Palestinian issue, must support was expressed for Mahmoud Abbas, the President of the Palestinian Authority, and their rightful demands. Five months after the war, the dangerous consequences of appeasing the religious and terrorist dictatorship have become apparent, validating the correctness of Iranian Resistance positions.”

The session reiterated the four important demands included in Mrs. Rajavi’s international call:

Designating the Revolutionary Guards as a terrorist organization and expelling the regime’s mercenaries.
Activating the trigger mechanism in UN Resolution 2231 and activating Security Council resolutions regarding nuclear projects.
Placing the mullahs’ regime as the main threat to peace and tranquility in the current world under Chapter Seven of the United Nations Charter.
Acknowledging the struggle of the people, youth, and the Resistance Units against the Revolutionary Guards, for the overthrow of the regime.
The session highlighted that the revolution and the overthrow of the regime are the least costly ways to free the people of Iran and the Middle East from Islamic fundamentalism. The regime’s frantic reaction to the Resistance indicates the strength of the Resistance and the regime’s fear of inevitable overthrow. The activities of the revolutionary pioneers and the Resistance Units, the activities of the NCRI and freedom-loving groups and Iranians inside and outside, along with the intensification of the conflict within the pyramid of power, can change the balance in favor of the Iranian revolution.

With reference to the trial of 104 members of the PMOI and NCRI, the session warned the European Union that this trial paves the way for terrorism more than ever in Europe.

The NCRI has been striving for 43 years for a democratic republic based on the separation of religion and state, gender equality, and self-determination for all ethnicities, continuing until the final victory of the democratic revolution in Iran.
