Iran’s Regime Tries to Cover up Its Brutality in Suppressing the Iran Protests

More than 1000 protesters have been killed so far by the regime. This factor has forced the bloodthirsty dictator to make such a hypocritic and deceptive gesture of “Islamic Kindness.”
Written by Mohammad Sadat Khansari

On Wednesday, Iranian state television broadcasted the regime’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei’s positive response to a request by the Secretary of the regime’s Supreme National Security Council, Ali Shamkhani, over the victims of the recent nationwide uprising. Shamkhani had earlier shamelessly requested Khamenei to somehow “pardon” the victims.

In response, Khamenei said, “According to the country’s legal framework, ordinary citizens who were killed during the recent riots and hadn’t participate in these protests, are considered martyrs. Their family members should be consoled and receive proper attention. They, as well as detainees, should be subjected to Islamic Kindness.” After ordering the mass murder of all the protesters, this seems rather an odd and indeed an unprecedented behavior which begs the question: What are the reason and motivations behind Khamenei’s action?

Separating the victims into two groups of “innocent” and “guilty” indeed confirm the regime’s mass murder during the recent Iran protests. Thousands have been blindly arrested, according to regime officials, to be screened and classified accordingly.

The regime’s disgusting gesture of kindness is being broadcasted while Khamenei, on November 17, two days after the beginning of the nationwide protests, ordered the massacre and suppression of protesters and asked the regime’s officials to act decisively on their responsibilities. On November 26, while meeting with his paramilitary Basij forces, Khamenei called the uprising a “deep, vast and very dangerous conspiracy” and ordered them to be present in every neighborhood. He also reminded them of his order to fire at will, meaning they have an open hand in murdering innocent people.

In addition, Khamenei’s agents and appointees in everywhere demanded the execution of the arrested protesters.

For instance, Keyhan daily, which is known as Khamenei’s mouthpiece, in an article by its editor-in-chief Hossain Shariatmadari, published on November 19, threatened the protesters with execution. While quoting the regime’s Judiciary officials, Shariatmadari wrote, “The leaders of these riots will be executed.” He continued, “The rioters’ act was a clear sign of insurgency, and according to our Islamic penal code they should be executed.”

The regime’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) in a statement on November 18 threatened the protesters that if they continue their demonstrations, they will receive what the IRGC described as a “revolutionary” response.

Khamenei’s appointed Friday Prayer leaders one after another called for the execution of detained protesters. For example, Mullah Ahmad Khatami, the Friday prayers leader of Tehran, on November 22, said, “As a scholar with more than 20 years of Islamic experience, I say these [protesters] are outlaws, they are Mohareb [Enemies of God] and should receive the maximum punishment.”

During the regime’s counterdemonstrations, in both banners and the final resolutions, the principal demand was the execution of “rioters.”

Clearly, these calls for execution, just like the order of mass murder of protesters, come directly from Khamenei himself. So, why has he suddenly spoken of “Islamic Kindness” toward detainees and ordered “consoling” of the family members of martyrs? This is out of his utter fear of the consequences of his mass murder of protesters and the possible explosion of people’s anger. More than 1000 protesters have been killed so far by the regime. This factor has forced the bloodthirsty dictator to make such a hypocritic and deceptive gesture of “Islamic Kindness.” In one word, this is a clear sign of the regime’s weakness and another sign of victory for the nationwide uprising and the regime’s ultimate downfall.

Obviously, no sane person would believe that such a bloodthirsty dictator like Khamenei would suddenly suffer from a conscience pain and stop committing crimes, not least since Khamenei’s “Islamic Kindness” gesture is being made while:

His regime, particularly the Judiciary, has not yet announced the number of martyrs, wounded and arrested people.
The family members of martyrs are not allowed to hold funerals for their loved ones.
The regime continues its barbaric tortures against thousands of detained protesters in prisons throughout the country, and prisoners are kept in the most inhumane conditions.
Therefore, Khamenei’s position is a desperate yet deceptive action, which shows he is at a dead-end.

The first kindness toward the Iranian people is the downfall of this regime and for Khamenei to get lost. People have chanted during the Iran protests: “Khamenei, shame on you, let go our country.

History has proven that dictators won’t step down with nice words and good wishes; they will be toppled by the hand of risen people, and the Iranian people’s victorious uprising proved the Iranian people’s will and strength to fulfill this matter. This uprising and people’s bravery have forced Khamenei, who during the first few days of uprising called the protesters “thugs” to sit back from his early position and make such a deceptive and hypocritic gesture.

Now after the acknowledgment of the regime’s supreme leader of “killing innocent civilians who had no role in the protests,” the people of Iran and their resistance reiterate what Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), had previously said:

“The United Nations Security Council must set aside political and economic considerations and declare the killing of protesters as a crime against humanity. Khamenei, Rouhani, and other regime leaders must face justice for perpetrating a crime against humanity.”

“The religious dictatorship ruling Iran has been utilizing all its suppressive and security agencies and its notorious machinery of censorship and repression to conceal the scope of its crimes against humanity,” Mrs. Rajavi added.

“The UN must dispatch a fact-finding mission to Iran to ascertain the scope of crime against humanity and visit the prisons and prisoners,” she added.
