The Law stipulates four to 10 years and seven to 17 years imprisonment for mercenaries in Albania, serving the regime’s Ministry of Intelligence and engaging in illegal interception of communication, respectively.
On April 1, 2022, the Special Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Corruption and Organized Crime in Albania (SPAC) announced that the investigation into Bijan Pooladrag, an agent of the clerical regime Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) had been completed and that his case had been sent to court for trial. The statement said, “At the end of the investigation of this criminal proceeding, the defendant Bijan Pooladrag (citizen from Iran) was sent for trial, after he was accused of consuming the elements of criminal offenses, “Performing services and actions with declared persons”, ” Terrorist Organization”, “Illegal interception of computer data”, “Interference in computer data”, “Interference in the computer system”, “Misuse of equipment”, provided by Articles 230 / ç, 234 / a / 2, 293 / a / 1, 293 / b / 1, 293 / c / 1 and 293 / ç of the Criminal Code. According to the law, providing services to the clerical regime’s Ministry of Intelligence in Albania is punishable with four to 10 years, and illegal interception of data from citizens with seven to 17 years imprisonment, respectively.
Albanian media reported on April 1, 2022, that according to an investigation, Bijan Pooladrag, arrested in Tirana in 2020, was collecting information about the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) (Panorama, Euronews, Fax Web, Siri TV, Ima Albania. Gazeta Ship Tare …).
Newsbomb website wrote: “Pooladrag, who was spying on the MEK, communicated in Persian through the Telegram application. He was a fugitive from the Iranian regime and lived with an Albanian family in Tirana. The family’s daughter noticed his suspicious communications, and the police subsequently arrested him.”
The Security and Counterterrorism Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) had announced on October 11, 2020, “Bijan Pooladrag was expelled by the Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK/PMOI) in September 2019. The reasons for his expulsion are available and can be published and submitted to any court of law.”
After the arrest of Pooladrag, MOIS agents in Albania tried to whitewash his crimes and get him released from prison. On October 13, 2020, Gjergji Thanasi, a notorious regime agent in Albania, claimed that Pooladrag’s arrest had been a false flag operation by the MEK and the Albanian police.
In a statement dated October 11, 2020, the Security and Counterterrorism Committee revealed the establishment of a new center for espionage and intelligence gathering and the preparing for terrorist operations against the MEK in a three-story building in the Kinostadio area of Tirana, which several MOIS agents managed, including Hassan Heyrani. The statement said, “The MOIS has rejected requests by several agents such as Musa Damroudi, Rahman Mohammadian, Baqer Mohammadi, and Parviz Heidarzadeh, who have long requested to return to Iran, instructing them to remain in Albania to work against the MEK.” So far, only Parviz Heydarzadeh has returned to Iran.
Considering the clerical regime’s demonization campaign and security and terrorist threats in various European countries against the MEK, the Iranian Resistance again emphasizes the need for the prosecution, punishment, and expulsion of agents working for the MOIS, the IRGC, and the terrorist Quds Force, operating under various covers.
