Man ZandanThe Iranian regime’s suppressive State Security Forces (SSF) murdered a prisoner in the southern city of Ahvaz under torture after 8 years of imprisonment, according to obtained reports by the Human Rights and Democracy Activists in Iran.

Shahin Rajabi Mourkani was arrested after clashes with SSF forces in Ahvaz. He spent 8 years in Ahvaz’s Karoun prison and Karaj’s Gohardasht prison.

Nasrin SotodehThe Iranian regime has arrested Nasrin Sotoudeh, an attorney who represented a number of political prisoners in Iran, charging her with “colluding against the establishment’s security.”

According to Nasim Ghanavi, Ms. Sotoudeh’s lawyer, the regime’s judicial authorities have said that she will remain in detention until further notice.

LarejaniThe Iranian regime’s parliamentary speaker has admitted that the regime is facing “difficult threats” in comments that echoed growing fears in the regime over recent domestic and regional developments.

Ali Larijani made the unprecedented remarks during a speech in Qom, according to the state-run Mehr news agency on Friday.

 

BekvandAnother prisoner has died in Iran due to the tortures imposed by the clerical regime’s prison guards. Mohsen Bikvand, who was being held at Karaj’s Gohardasht prison, lost his life under torture on Tuesday night local time.

Mr. Bikvand was reportedly placed under cruel torture on numerous occasions by the regime’s agents. He died in Ward no. 6 in Hall 16.

Mojhedin-ZendanGermany’s Deutsche Welle radio broadcasted a report about recent remarks made by the Iranian regime’s foreign minister that there have been no political executions by the mullahs in Iran.

On Monday, Manouchehr Mottaki, the mullahs’ Foreign Minister, told the weekly German magazine Der Spiegel that, “No one in Iran has been executed on political grounds.”

Ahmadi Go to HellA newspaper in Iran affiliated with the mullahs’ President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has expressed worries about a scheduled protest against Ahmadinejad’s visit to New York City this month.

A large demonstration is scheduled to be held by Iranian exiles and opponents of the regime in front of the UN headquarters on September 23, where Ahmadinejad will be attending the UN General Assembly session.

The health of a political prisoner in Iran’s Gohardasht prison has deteriorated rapidly after a 48 day hunger strike, according to obtained reports on Monday. Arjang Davoudi is now in a coma but the clerical regime is preventing access to medical treatment for the political prisoner. Prison authorities have reportedly left him on a stretcher in Gohardasht prison’s Ward 3 hallway.

Dr. Rashid Aliev A physicist from the country of Azerbaijan specializing in laser technology, who spent a year and a half in Iranian prisons and was recently released and extradited to his native country, has revealed his experience at the Iranian regime’s prisons as well as the regime’s tactics to hold him captive.

In an interview  on Tuesday, Dr. Rashid Aliev said he was surprised by “arbitrary trials and violations of prisoners’ rights in Iran.” He added that he was most inspired by the high morale, persistence and world outlook of political prisoners at Ward 209 of Tehran’s notorious Evin Prison.

AhmadiIn an opinion piece published in the Wall Street Journal this week, Michael Ledeen of the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies suggested that the Iranian regime is faltering with opposition against it spreading in the streets, in prisons, and even in the military.
