In a state of panic over the prospect of a popular uprising by a people driven to the brink, and in an attempt to escape the crises plaguing his ailing regime, Khamenei has intensified the wave of mass and brutal executions.
On just one day, Sunday, September 7, at least 14 prisoners were sent to the gallows. Seven of these victims—Babak Omarzadeh, Houshang Hanareh, Tofiq Ne’mati, Keyvan Mamedi, Najib Azarm, Sadegh Bahmani, and Mojtaba Salemi—were executed in Tabriz. Masoud Qanbarzehi, 38 years old, was executed in Zahedan; Azad Moradi in Sanandaj; Dariush Bahrami-Garavand in Karaj; Taleb Tavakkoli in Dezful; Ahmad Rafi’i and Abdolreza Karimi in Arak; and Mohammad Mirbaluchzehi in Manujan, Kerman Province.
On Saturday, September 6, Farzad Mohebbi was executed in Qazvin, and Moslem Salehkhani, Taher Rasoulpour (28 years old), Mohammad Bikar (34 years old), and Mehran Bahramian, a 32-year-old uprising detainee, were hanged in Isfahan.
On Thursday, September 4, Mohammad Salehi, Ebrahim Saffari (Safarzai), 22 years old, and another unidentified prisoner were executed in Yazd.
On Wednesday, September 3, ten prisoners were hanged. Abolfazl Asgari, 30 years old, and another prisoner named Darvishpour were executed in Tabriz. The names of the remaining eight victims had been listed in a previous statement.
On Tuesday, September 2, twelve prisoners were sent to the gallows. Among them were Ahmad Alipour, 29 years old, and a female prisoner named Gohar Taheri Aghdam, 52 years old, who were executed in Zanjan, along with Jalal Moradian in Kermanshah. The names of the other victims were reported earlier.
Thus, in the span of just 16 days—since August 23, 2025—at least 90 prisoners have fallen victim to the execution machinery of the clerical regime.
In yet another criminal act, the regime’s executioners secretly hanged two Sunni prisoners—Eskandar Bazmandegan and Mohammad Kashefi—on Wednesday, August 13, in Shiraz. They were accused of “acting against national security and ties to Salafi groups.” The execution was carried out without notifying their families or allowing a final visit. The two had been held in the Intelligence Ministry’s detention facility for six months, where they were subjected to torture and interrogation.
