At an online conference held by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) on March 15, 2026, Senator Giulio Terzi, Chairman of the Italian Senate Committee on European Union Policies and former Minister of Foreign Affairs, expressed firm support for the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI). Senator Terzi lauded Rajavi’s leadership and the “sense of direction” she provides during this critical juncture for the Iranian nation.
Highlighting a significant shift in international diplomacy, the Italian senator noted that over 1,000 parliamentarians, former heads of state, and political leaders worldwide have signed a joint statement endorsing the NCRI’s provisional government. He described this as an “unprecedented endorsement” that reflects a growing global consensus for an organized, legitimate framework for a peaceful transition in Iran.
Senator Terzi condemned the “criminal Republic of the Mullahs” for its 47-year history of human rights violations, terror, and corruption. He emphasized that the Iranian people, particularly the youth and women, are determined to achieve a leadership that reflects their sovereign will rather than that of past or present oppressors.
Reaffirming his commitment to the NCRI’s Ten-Point Plan, the former Italian foreign minister characterized it as the clearest vision for a free Iran, grounded in democracy, gender equality, and the separation of religion and state.

Senator Giulio Terzi: The time to recognize the NCRI is now. — March 15, 2026.
I would like first of all to thank deeply, wholeheartedly Madame Rajavi for the very important words and the direction, a sense of direction that she gave to all of us in this difficult juncture that we are facing.
I would like first of all to make and to express the importance of an extraordinary demonstration of support for an Iranian true and necessary democratic alternative. And this expression of demonstration of support, a very important demonstration of support, has been delivered by more than 1000 parliamentarians, former heads of state and government, ministers and political leaders from around the world, who have signed a strong and clear joint statement to fully support the provisional government announced by the National Council of Resistance of Iran.
This unprecedented endorsement reflects a broad cross-party international recognition of a democratic alternative for Iran. It underscores a growing global consensus around an organized and legitimate framework for peaceful transition grounded in the will of the Iranian people.
Today we stand with you, Madame Rajavi. We stand with the heroic nation of Iran which is fighting for its freedom. We stand with Iranian women, with so many thousand of freedom fighters, members of the Resistance. We stand with millions and millions of students, boys and girls, with young adult people of the entire country which are raising their voices and their arms through an unwavering, courageous determination against the evil of our time, the evil of our age, the evil of the criminal Republic of the mullahs.

The mullahs’ age of terror, of shameful bloodshed, of monstrous corruption has come to its end. We are finally living the most decisive hours for the future of Iran. Over 47 long years, the Iranian people have endured an unspeakable human rights violation. Over 47 years the regime has ruled through fear, repression and violence. Tens of thousands of Iranian have paid with their lives and more than 300,000 have been wounded during only the last few months. Most of them are the young brave young men and women who refuse to surrender their hope for freedom.
We know all too well how the mullahs have exported their ideology of domination and terror across the Middle East, seeking to destabilize whole nations, to erase their ancient heritage, to subjugate their own people. Inside Iran as well as abroad, political opponents have been systematically silenced through torture, hanging, terrorist attacks by mullahs’ killers dispatched by an intelligence apparatus which is weaponizing even its embassies. History teaches all of us that no system built on repression can last forever.
Iran’s future deserves a leadership that fully reflects the sovereign will of its people. Iranians strongly request a fully respected, reliable, democratic, republican leadership drawing its legitimacy absolutely not from present or past oppressors, but by the enormous sacrifices of its martyrs and from the extraordinary courage of its citizens.

As an European and as a citizen of Italy, a nation built on freedom, on democratic values and on the rule of law, and as a friend of all those who place these values above everything else, I am honored to be here today to share the same commitment with all of you. The commitment to renew and reinforce our support to the Ten-Point Plan of the National Council of Resistance of Iran. The plan strongly championed by President Madame Rajavi offers a clear vision for a free Iran, the most clear vision that has been discussed over the last many decades.
For a new state and a new government based on democracy, based on rule of law, human rights, gender equality, separation between the religion and the state. A new state and new government fully committed to pursue and maintain peace, security, economic and social progress among all nations.
Thank you, Madame Rajavi, for your fight for freedom, for democracy, a fight which is not only shared but which is also benefiting all of us.
Thank you.
