Call for Immediate Action to Save the Lives of 10 Other Young Uprising Prisoners, Aged 18 to 24, Sentenced to Death in Isfahan
On Sunday morning, July 19, 2026, the henchmen of the mullahs’ regime hanged two prisoners of the January 2026 uprising, Erfan Esfandiari, 18, and Gol-Mohammad Mohammadi, 24 (an Afghan national), in Isfahan. They were executed on charges of ‘Moharebeh’ (waging war against God), ‘Efsad-fel-Arz’ (corruption on Earth), and the killing of four State Security Force (SSF) officers.
The regime’s judiciary announced that during the January uprising, ‘four SSF officers’ were killed ‘at Alikhani Square in Isfahan province, which occurred with the aim of overthrowing the system.’ It added, ‘The rioters in Isfahan’s Alikhani Square, while carrying various firearms, knives, daggers, machetes, and Molotov cocktails, destroyed the police station and precinct, set fire to public property and tires, and blocked the street.’
In a case known as the ‘Alikhani Square’ case, the regime’s judiciary has sentenced 10 other prisoners of the January 2026 uprising to death on the same charges, in addition to these two prisoners. On Saturday morning, July 18, all 12 death row prisoners were taken out of the general ward of Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan under the false pretext of ‘meeting the case judge.’ Following this sudden transfer, other prisoners went on strike to protest the lack of information about the fate of their cellmates. Consequently, the other 10 prisoners are now at immediate risk of execution.
These criminal sentences were issued by two notorious judges, Mohammad Reza Tavakoli and Mohammad Barati Dorcheh, while the prisoners were deprived of the right to choose independent lawyers. The other ten prisoners sentenced to death are: Alireza Sepahi, 24; Abolfazl Sepahi, 23; Ghaem Hosseini, 20; Shervin Bagherian, 18; Amirhossein Ebrahimi Analoucheh, 19; Amirhossein Safari, 27; Amirhossein Maleki, 19; Ali Dashti, 19; Abolfazl Ebrahimi, 18; and Alireza Reisi, 21.
Beset by domestic and international crises, the religious fascism ruling Iran desperately seeks to prevent the explosion of popular anger and the escalation of protests through these anti-human executions. However, these sentences only strengthen the resolve of the rebellious youths to overthrow the regime.
The Iranian Resistance, while saluting the executed and steadfast rebels, once again calls on the United Nations, all human rights organizations, as well as the European Union and its member states, to take immediate and effective action to halt the mullahs’ regime’s machinery of execution and repression and to save the lives of political prisoners on death row, particularly the 10 young men sentenced to death in Isfahan. The dossier of the crimes of the velayat-e faqih regime must be referred to the UN Security Council, and its leaders must be brought to justice.
