3rd May 2024In a bold act of defiance and courage, two political prisoners from within the confines of Iran’s oppressive regime have sent out a powerful message to society. Mehdi and Mohammad Khodakarami, incarcerated in the Khorramabad Central Detention Center, have penned a letter that serves as a rallying cry against tyranny and an affirmation of hope for a better future.

Despite the risks to their own lives, the Khodakarami brothers have delivered a poignant condemnation of the regime’s injustices, highlighting the imminent threat faced by fellow inmates who have been sentenced to death. The letter underscores the regime’s relentless pursuit of power through fear and violence, drawing parallels with historical oppressors while urging for collective action to challenge and dismantle the regime’s grip on power.

Their message resonates with a call to arms for justice and freedom, rallying the people of Iran and human rights advocates worldwide to stand in solidarity against the regime’s atrocities. As their words echo beyond the prison walls, the letter serves as a reminder of the resilience of the human spirit and the power of collective action in the pursuit of liberty.

“Soon the oppressors shall learn how we will crush their reign.” – Quran, Surah Ash-Shu’ara (26:227).

From the slaughterhouse and torture chambers of Khorramabad Central Detention Center,

In its relentless pursuit to sow fear and cling to power, the clerical regime continues the dark legacy of the Pahlavi dynasty, extinguishing the brightest noblest sons and daughters of Iran with even greater brutality. Time races forward, oblivious to the regime’s determination to execute freedom fighters and the people of Iran. But it fails to realize that the blood of our youth will fertilize the ground for a new era, terminating their tyranny once and for all; as history and evolution demand.

They seem blind to the fate of past oppressors like Pharaoh, Reza Shah, Mohammad Reza Shah, Hitler, and Mussolini.

We have been informed of the death sentences of Tumaj Salehi, Shahab Nadali, Shahriar Bayat, Reza Rasaei, Abbas and Habib Deris, Mojahed Kurkur, Aref Khoshkar, and other political prisoners and other inmates, all victims of this regime’s ruthless policies. These cases are but a glimpse into the regime’s violations of human rights within its slaughterhouses and torture chambers.

Thus, it is our moral imperative, voiced every Tuesday during our hunger strikes against state-sanctioned executions, to vehemently denounce these unjust verdicts, especially those targeting nameless and faceless prisoners trapped within the grip of tyranny. We call upon the people of Iran and all advocates for human rights to stand in protest and demand the annulment of these criminal judgments.

In any court where justice still holds sway, we shall emerge victorious.

For ours is a struggle for liberty.

Long live the people, long live freedom.

May the democratic revolution of the Iranian people prevail.

Mehdi and Mohammad Khodakarami, from the slaughterhouse and torture chambers of Khorramabad Central Detention Center
