NCRI logoUnited Nations urged to intervene, save prisoners’ lives

Prisoners in Torbat Jam prison protested this morning, November 8, to prevent the transfer of two prisoners for execution. Brutal forces known as Special Guard attacked the prisoners. The prisoners broke the doors of several prison wards and clashed with the guards. Parts of the prison were set on fire during the clashes.

The Special Guard took at least 20 of the prisoners to Mashhad prison to be tried on the charge of ‘causing the disturbance in the prison. They were beaten with their hands and feet tied as they were being transferred.

The Iranian Resistance calls on the UN Secretary-General, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and the UN Human Rights Council, Amnesty International, and other international human rights advocates to intervene immediately to save the lives of Torbat Jam prisoners.
