UK Parliament Foreign Affairs Committee Publishes BCFIF Report Exposing Iran Regime’s Atrocities and Supporting Iranian Resistance
Caroline Nokes, a member of the UK Parliament, has presented a petition to the House of Commons condemning the Iranian regime’s violent suppression of the ongoing anti-government protests.

According to the petition, in response to the protests and uprisings led by women and youth across Iran, the regime’s security forces have opened fire on the protesters, resulting in the deaths of over 750 people, including 83 women and 75 children. Additionally, more than 30,000 protesters have been arrested.

The petition further states that Amnesty International has reported that detained children have been subjected to horrific torture, including beatings, lashings, electric shocks, sexual assault, and other forms of sexual violence. The organization also alleges that the regime has deliberately poisoned female students across Iran in retaliation for their participation in the protests.

Crucially, the petition notes that the UN Special Rapporteur on Iran has classified the ongoing atrocities as crimes against humanity. The petition calls on the UK government to condemn the regime’s violent suppression of the protests, support the democratic movements in Iran, and exert pressure on the Iranian regime to halt the crackdown.

The 2022 uprising, which erupted in September 2022 following the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini in the custody of the regime’s so-called “morality police,” has united Iranians from diverse backgrounds in a collective demand for regime change. The regime’s response has been a brutal crackdown, but the defiant spirit of the protesters remains unbroken.
