Nationwide Protests, Defiant Youths’ Robust Response to Khamenei’s Warnings
On Saturday evening, November 19, the 65th day of the uprising, the city of Mahabad, which had become the scene of massive public protests after the funeral procession of Kamal Ahmadpour, was attacked by suppressive forces and special units. The regime forces entered the city with its military weapons and armored vehicles and began shooting at people and targeting their houses non-stop. The sound of shooting could be heard from all parts of the city. The regime also cut off the city’s electricity.

Shiraz, Tabriz, Sanandaj, Mahabad, Malekan, Larestan, Lahijan, Paveh, Golpaygan, Lali, Marivan, Sari, Ardabil, Khoi, Bonab, Kangavar, Garmsar, Darjezin, Divandareh, Saqqez, Oshnavieh, Shahriar, Bukan, Qorveh, Razen, Qom, Parsian, Dashti, Heydarabad of Karaj and many other cities were also the scenes of nightly protests and clashes with the suppressive forces.

In Tehran, people staged nightly protests in various parts, including Saadat Abad, Bulevar Ferdows, Parand, Narmak, Tehranpars, Ponak, Sattarkhan, Seyed Khandan and Shahrak Quds, chanting “Death to Khamenei” and “Death to the dictator.” In Garmsar, people engaged in hit-and-ran clashes with the suppressive agents shouting at them, “Shame on you, shame on you.”

In East Azerbaijan province, people gathered in the streets of Malekan at night and chanted against Khamenei. Nightly protests were held in Bonab with people chanting, “Death to Khamenei” and “Death to the dictator.”

In West Azerbaijan province, Khoi, Takab, Mahabad, Oshnavieh, Piranshahr, Bukan and Malekan were the scene of night protests and people put up resistance against suppressive forces’ attack. The protesters in Khoi were chanting “From Khoi to Kurdistan, my life for Izeh.” In Piranshahr, people lit a fire and chanted “Kurd, Baluch, Azeri, freedom and equality.” Women in Piranshahr prepared sandwiches for the protesters in the streets.

In Kurdistan province, the mass protest in Divandareh that started at noon was attacked by the suppressive forces killing and wounding several protesters with gunshots. In Marivan, people lit a fire in the streets at night and staged demonstrations. They torched the statue of Qassem Soleimani, former Commander of the Quds Force. In the cities of Sanandaj and Marivan, the regime’s forces widely used live ammunition against the protesters.

In Baharan, Vilashahr and Maskan-e Mehr of Sanandaj, protesters were chanting, “Death to the dictator” and “Death to Khamenei” and clashing with the suppressive forces. Plainclothes agents attacked Shahrak-e Vilashahr and damaged people’s homes and vehicles, but the protests continued until the late hours of Saturday and the sound of gunfire could be heard.

In Kermanshah province, the people of Paveh held a nightly demonstration and forced the suppressive forces to flee. The people of Kangavar held a nightly protest chanting, “Have no fear, we are all together.”

In Ardabil province, the city of Ardabil witnessed protests and clashes with the suppressive agents. The people also honored the 40th day of the martyrdom of Asra Panahi, a 16-year-old slain female student.

In Isfahan province, the people of Golpayegan staged a nightly protest chanting “We shall fight, we shall die, and we shall take Iran back.”

In Ilam province, in the city of Murmuri of Abdanan county, the protest by a large crowd that started on Saturday morning continued until the late hours. The Governor of Abdanan told IRNA state-run news agency on November 19: “Many government offices and revolutionary institutions were attacked by rioters in the center of Kalat Murmuri district, and these people used incendiary materials in their attacks on parts of the district administration building, municipality, agent banks, Agricultural Jihad and the Post Office.”

In Fars province, in the Keshan (Golshan) neighborhood of Shiraz, after the funeral procession of the slain Sajjad Qaemi, people staged a protest chanting, “Death to Khamenei.” When the people were going towards the ring road, the plainclothes agents and motorcyclists, who were waiting for the crowd, opened fire on people at close range, killing and wounding a number of protesters.

In Gilan province, the city of Lahijan witnessed nightly protests with chants of “Death to the dictator” that could be heard from across the city.

In the Central province, people held a nightly demonstration in Mahalat chanting, “Death to the dictator.” On the Saveh highway, people burned a billboard depicting Ali Khamenei.
