Iran Protest-No. 73

Today, Saturday, October 22, the families of political prisoners gathered in front of Evin prison for seven consecutive days to find out about the condition of their loved ones following the vicious attack of the suppressive forces on October 15 on the political prisoners in Evin prison and their brutal murder. The families have received no response from the suppressive forces about the condition of the prisoners.

Most of the prisoners who are suffering from serious injuries sustained during the brutal attack of NOPO (The IRGC’s Special Force protecting the Supreme Leader) are left without medical treatment. These prisoners were targeted, shot, and severely beaten with batons by NOPO. Furthermore, political prisoners in Ward 8 are deprived of fresh airtime and purchase what they need from the prison shop.

The prisoners who were transferred from Evin to Gohardasht prison, most of whom are wounded, are deprived of basic living conditions and medical treatment. They are also denied fresh airtime and prevented from using the prison shop. The sick prisoners are denied necessary medicine.

Meanwhile, on October 21, the state-run Khabar Fory website quoted Ahmad Alirezabeigi, a member of Councils and Internal Affairs of the regime’s parliament, as saying, “Around 1300 prisoners were transferred from Evin to Fashafouyeh prison.”
