Iran: Coronavirus Death Toll in 518 Cities Surpasses 231,300

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced on Sunday, March 14, 2021, that the Coronavirus death toll in 518 cities had exceeded 231,300. The number of victims in Tehran is 54,176, Isfahan 14,995, Khuzestan 12,840, Mazandaran 9,832, East Azerbaijan 8,988, Gilan 8,186, Fars 6,837, Alborz 5,743, Hamedan 5,368, Kerman 5,099, Kermanshah 4,659, Yazd 4,202, Kurdistan 3,992, Semnan 3,790, Bushehr 2,334, and Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad 1,749.

The state-run daily, Mostaghel, admitting the contradictory statements by various regime officials on COVID-19 crisis management, wrote today, “The Health Minister pleads: ‘To not travel during Nowruz (Iranian New Year),’ But the Interior Minister announces; ‘Nowruz trips to blue and yellow cities are allowed. The NCCT has limited the activities of some businesses but allows the activity of overcrowded banks and does not show any sensitivity about crowded malls and narrow bazaars (markets) which do not have windows and ventilators, not to mention the overcrowded corridors of death in the subways.”
