Iran: Coronavirus Death Toll in 497 Cities Surpasses 223,100

The British virus has spread to at least 16 provinces, and every COVID-19 patient is infected with the British type unless proven otherwise

Regime Health Ministry: The terrible rise of Coronavirus infections threatens the country. Day hospitalizations are still rising in some provinces. Most hospitalizations are in Khuzestan, Mazandaran, and Semnan and the highest death rates are in Khuzestan, Mazandaran, Golestan, and Semnan, respectively. (Mehr news agency, February 28, 2021)

• Alireza Reisi, the spokesperson for the National Coronavirus Combat Taskforce (NCCT): The spread of British COVID-19 is not limited to Khuzestan Province. At least 187 cases have been discovered in 16 other provinces and we had 20 deaths. (State TV, February 27, 2021)

• Ahvaz University of Medical Sciences: In the past week, the number of COVID-19 infections in Khuzestan Province increased by 74%, hospitalizations by 90% and deaths by 100%. (IRNA news agency, February 28, 2021)

• Head of Abuzar Hospital in Ahvaz: Before the appearance of the British COVID-19, one in 10 children with Coronavirus symptoms was hospitalized, but now one in three is admitted to ICU (State TV, February 27, 2021)

• Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences: Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari is the most vulnerable Province in terms of the British COVID-19 after Khuzestan Province. (ISNA news agency, February 28, 2021)

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced on Sunday, February 28, 2021, that the Coronavirus death toll in 497 cities exceeds 223,100. The number of victims in Tehran is 52,886, Isfahan 14,375, Khuzestan 11,680, Mazandaran 9,427, Lorestan 9,253, West Azerbaijan 8,348, Gilan 7,976, Fars 6,657, Golestan 5,795, Alborz 5,593, Kerman 4,944, Central Province 4,503, Semnan 3,505, Ilam 2,291, Chahrmahal and Bakhtiari 1,795 and Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad 1,679.
