Romanian MPs Urge EU to Condemn Iranian Regime’s Conspiracies Against Opposition

In August 2023, members of the Committee of Romanian Parliamentarians for a Free Iran, Dan-Cristian Popescu, Maria Grecea, and Liviu Titus Pasca, addressed European Council President Charles Michel, expressing grave concerns over the Iranian regime’s relentless campaign against the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) and its supporters.

Highlighting the Iranian regime’s record of violently attacking the Iranian Resistance members in the past, the (CRPFI) referred to the Iranian regime’s Judiciary issuing arrest warrants against the MEK and 104 individuals living in European countries, exposing the regime’s desperation in the face of growing domestic dissent.

The parliamentarians called upon the European Union to uphold its democratic principles, support the establishment of an international tribunal to hold the regime accountable for crimes against humanity and ensure the protection of Iranian political refugees within Ashraf-3, emphasizing the need for a resolute stance against the regime’s conspiracies.
