On February 4, following a major conference where leaders and lawmakers from Canada and the United States addressed the Iranian Canadian community in the Ontario State, supporters of the Iranian Resistance marched through the city of Toronto to demonstrate their support for their fellow countrymen and women back home in their struggle to liberate Iran and establish democracy.

Waving the flag of Iran as well as the emblem of the People’s Mojahehin Organization (PMOI/MEK), the demonstrators were also holding signs that reflected popular slogans that stem from the uprising inside Iran. Among many of these slogans, they chanted: “death to Khamenei”, “death to the oppressor, be it the Shah or the leader” and “First and foremost we want regime change”.

The demonstrators also condemned the Western policy of appeasement vis-à-vis the murderous regime and called on Ottawa to proscribe the Iranian regime’s Revolutionary Guards Corps in its entirety. They also called on Western governments to stop talking with the mullahs who are cracking down on protesters and keeping the entire country in poverty and economic misery while plundering its rich resources.

Expressing their support for the NCRI President-elect Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the demonstrators in Toronto also honored the tens of thousands of martyrs who gave their lives on the path for freedom and vowed to keep the light of the fight aflame until their struggle bears fruit and democracy is determined for all Iranians.
