Dozens of human rights organizations, parliamentary committees and associations supporting the Iranian Resistance from both sides of the Atlantic, in a statement, announced their support for and solidarity with the National Council of Resistance of Iran’s “Free Iran Global Summit” which will be held on July 17, 2020. The following is the full text of the statement.
Statement by the sponsors of the International Online Summit in Support of Human Rights, Freedom & Justice in Iran
Tens of thousands of Iranian communities and supporters of the Iranian people’s resistance from around the world are joining the international online conference in support of human rights and the uprising of the Iranian people to achieve freedom, justice and democracy. Hundreds of parliamentarians, politicians and prominent figures, lawyers and international organizations support and sponsor this global online summit. In the recent uprisings in November 2019 and January 2020, the world saw and heard the cries and demands of the Iranian people to change and overthrow the dictatorial regime of Velayat-e Faqih. In the November 2019 uprising, more than 1,500 people were killed by the Revolutionary Guards’ repressive forces acting on Khamenei’s and Rouhani’s orders. The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) has collected the names and photos of hundreds of these victims and made them available to the public and international organizations.
In the Coronavirus tragedy, the cover-ups, absence of public information, theft, corruption, incompetence and lack of medical and economic aid, left thousands of people infected. The death toll is still rising every day.
The Velayat-e Faqih regime, as the world’s record-holder of executions and the most active sponsor of international terrorism, is an urgent threat to peace and stability in the region and to the people of the world.
We, the sponsors of this great online summit, together with thousands of parliamentarians and other personalities, support the 10-point plan of Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, to establish a democratic and free republic, advocating the separation of religion and state, pluralism, free elections, and a market economy.
