Gathering in Support of Iranian Women’s Fight for Freedom and Democracy in Pescara, Italy

In a significant gathering initiated by the Iranian Democratic Women’s Society in Italy, a conference was held in the municipality of Pescara, emphasizing support for the Iranian people’s struggle for freedom and a democratic republic. The focus was also on the resilience and brave role of women in opposing the misogynistic regime of the clerics in Iran.

The event saw the participation of key figures, including Carlo Masci, the Mayor of Pescara, and several officials from both Pescara and the Abruzzo region. Their presence underscored their solidarity with Iranian women engaged in a relentless battle against the oppressive Iranian regime. At the core of their endorsement was Maryam Rajavi’s comprehensive Ten-Point Plan for shaping a democratic future for Iran.

During the gathering, Maurizia Sciarretta, the President of Pescara’s Equal Opportunities Commission, highlighted the situation in Iran one year after the nationwide uprising. She commended the Iranian people, particularly women, for their determination and pivotal role in the fight for freedom.

Shahed Shole, the organizer of the Iranian Democratic Women’s Society in Italy, expressed admiration for the resilience demonstrated by Iranians in their struggle for freedom. She specifically emphasized the vital leadership role played by women in the nationwide uprising against the oppressive regime. Mrs. Shole also acknowledged the global support for the Iranian people’s resistance and endorsed their quest for freedom.

Maria Luigia Montopolino, President of Pescara’s Equal Opportunities Commission, lauded the active participation of women in the struggle against the misogynistic regime. She affirmed the municipality’s unwavering support for Iranian women in their fight for their rights.

Additionally, Maria Franca D’Agostino, the President of the Equal Opportunities Commission in the Abruzzo Province, shared her experiences from a meeting with the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran during her recent visit to Italy. She recounted aspects of Mrs. Maryam Rajavi’s insights into the Iranian women’s struggle for liberation. D’Agostino also shed light on the regime’s anxious reactions during Mrs. Maryam Rajavi’s visit to Italy.

The Italian historian Gabriela Liberatore was the final speaker of this meeting.

The gathering emphasized the collective global support for the Iranian people’s resistance and celebrated the relentless efforts of Iranian women in the quest for freedom and equality. It reinforced the significance of international solidarity in the pursuit of a free and democratic Iran.
