Attack on Regime Mercenaries in Khash
On Monday, February 9, and Tuesday, February 10, 2026, protests erupted in universities, the oil and gas industries, and on the streets of various cities.

Students at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad rallied with the slogan, “Students would rather die than accept humiliation,” demanding the release of imprisoned students and standing up against assaults by university security and security forces. In Shiraz, medical sciences students staged a sit-in for the fifth consecutive day to protest suppression and the conditions faced by medical staff. Students at Tabriz, Khajeh Nasir, Amirkabir, and Tehran universities, as well as the Azad University of Karaj, issued statements emphasizing the boycott of classes and exams and the continuation of strikes.

Simultaneously, workers at the 10th refinery of the South Pars Gas Complex went on strike for the sixth consecutive day to protest slave-like working conditions and unmet demands. In Kermanshah, bazaar merchants and shopkeepers on Sirus Street gathered to protest the dire economic situation, where they faced a raid by Special Units. In Tehran, Rasht, Ahvaz, and Shush, retirees also rallied against poverty and high prices.

In Khash, during a clash between repressive forces and rebellious youth, a vehicle carrying judicial and State Security Force (SSF) mercenaries was targeted, resulting in casualties among its occupants. In Ahvaz, an SSF mercenary was killed in a confrontation with local youth. In various cities, including Shiraz, Karaj, and Zahedan, rebellious youth marked the anniversary of the 1979 anti-monarchic revolution on February 11 (22 Bahman) by setting fire to regime banners and symbols of the “Decade of Agony” (i.e. the 10 days before the return of Khomeini to Iran).

The 40th-day memorials for martyrs of the uprising in various cities have turned into focal points of anger against the regime. People in Shahin Shahr, Isfahan, held a ceremony for uprising martyr “Roozbeh Safari,” and in Ajin, Hamedan, a memorial was held for martyr “Somayeh Ghobadi,” with the chant, “This fallen flower is a gift to the homeland.”
