On Tuesday evening, January 17, the 124th day of the nationwide uprising, the 40th-day ceremony of the martyrdom of Mohsen Shekari was honored by residents of Haft Hoz of Narmak neighborhood in Tehran, where Mohsen lived. People on the streets chanting “Death to the dictator” were attacked by suppressive forces firing tear gas, but they were confronted by the protesters chanting “Shame on you.” During the day, the suppressive forces surrounded Mohsen Shekari’s grave site in Behesht Zahra Cemetery, southern Tehran, and prevented people from attending his grave. The defiant youths hung a large banner of Mohsen from the overpass on Hemat Highway in Tehran.

In other parts of Tehran, including Tehransar, Tehranpars, Shahrak Bagheri, and Ekbatan, the slogans of “Death to Khamenei,” “Death to the Supreme Leader after many long years of crimes,” “Homeland will not be free as long as mullahs not gone,” and “We pledge to the blood of our comrades – we will stand until the end” echoed.

In Azad city of Golestan province, the youths set fire to the signboard of IRGC intelligence headquarters, and in Qom, they burnt a banner with the picture of Qassem Soleimani, former Quds Force Commander.

In Torbat Jam, Razavi Khorasan Province, on the second day of protests against the gas cut in the sub-zero cold weather, people protested outside the Red Crescent and clashed with suppressive forces. In fear of continuing protests, the regime despatched reinforcements to the city.

The farmers in Isfahan demonstrated outside the Governor’s office on Monday and Tuesday in protest against not receiving their water supply. Demonstrators chanted slogans such as “Raisi (regime’s president), the liar! what happened to our water,” “The incompetent Raisi! go back to your seminary,” and “Victory is imminent, death to the deceitful government.”

A number of employees of the oil and gas company in Bandar Lange, Ilam, Jam Bushehr, Shiraz, Asaluyeh, Ahvaz, Khark, Qeshm, Dehloran, and Aghajari staged a strike and a protest rally in protest against their low salaries and poor living conditions. The protesters were chanting, “We have had enough promises; we need food.”

The Prisons Organization of the regime has fabricated legal cases against six political prisoners named Yashar Towhidi, Amir Abbas Azarmvand, Javad Seyyedi, Parsa Golshani, Mohammad Khani, and Reza Salmanzadeh, who were injured during the brutal attack on Evin prison on October 15, 2022, and filed complaints against them.
