Brutal attack and beating of political prisoners in Evin and transfer of at least 14 of them to Qezelhessar prison
In tandem with an escalation in repression and executions, the mullahs’ inhumane regime has intensified the pressure, harassment, and abuse of political prisoners. On Sunday, September 4, at 8 a.m., the henchmen of Khamenei brutally stormed Ward 8 of Evin Prison, subjecting political prisoners to beatings, destruction, and looting of their belongings. Subsequently, the prison’s special guards transferred at least 14 political prisoners, restrained with handcuffs and shackles, from Evin to Qezelhessar Prison, where they are now held in separate, extremely harsh conditions, isolated from other political inmates. Most of these prisoners had been relocated from Gohardasht Prison to Evin a few weeks ago.

The Iranian Resistance once again calls upon the United Nations, the European Union, member states, the High Commissioner for Human Rights at the United Nations, and all human rights organizations to condemn these criminal acts and urgently take action to save the lives of political prisoners. It also demands the dispatch of an international investigative delegation to Iranian prisons and visit political prisoners in the presence of the Resistance’s representatives.

The upcoming session of the United Nations General Assembly must prioritize an extraordinary review of the increasing trend of executions, torture, and arbitrary arrests, as well as the dire conditions in Iranian prisons. Silence and inaction constitute a blatant violation of fundamental and universal human rights principles in the world today.
