Mrs. Rajavi’s call for saving the lives of women prisoners in Qarchak
In a disturbing incident reported by the MEK Social Headquarters, this noon, agents of the Khamenei regime carried out a ruthless assault on the vulnerable women inmates in Qarchak Prison, Varamin. These women had protested against the inhumane conditions prevailing in the prison. The attackers stormed into the facility, wielding pellet shotguns, and opened fire on them. As a result of this savage attack, at least 20 prisoners were injured, and a significant number of them sustained severe injuries from the brutal blows inflicted by the prison guards. Several inmates were forcibly removed from the general population and placed in solitary confinement cells, subjected to beatings and mistreatment.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), while condemning this brutal assault, called for immediate action by the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, the Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Iran, the Special Rapporteur on Violence Against Women, as well as all human rights defenders and women’s rights advocates. She underscores the urgent need for an international fact-finding mission to inspect Iranian prisons, with a particular focus on visiting female prisoners and political detainees.
