Exiled Iranians from all over the world called for international protection of Camp Ashraf of refugees in Iraq in a great gathering in Paris yesterday, Austrian Channel 1 Television reported on June 19.
More than anything else, the prelude to the large gathering in Paris was Iraq’s military attack against Camp Ashraf in early April. During that attack, 36 people were killed and about 300 were wounded. Maryam Rajavi, president of the resistance movement said the attack was carried out at the orders of the Iranian government.
The National Council of resistance of Iran believes that the killing had only one reason: to obey orders issued by Tehran, Austrian Channel 1 TV said.
