Iran: Coronavirus Death Toll in 327 Cities Is More Than 50,300

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK) announced on Monday, June 8, 2020, that the Coronavirus fatalities in 327 cities across Iran had exceeded 50,300. The death toll in Khuzestan is 4,045, Khorasan Razavi 3,160, Sistan and Baluchestan 1,750, Lorestan 1,675, West Azerbaijan 1,380, Fars 1,085, Kurdistan 995, and Hormozgan 295.

Regime’s Health Ministry’s spokesman told the state official news agency, IRNA, today: “Khuzestan Province is still red, and the provinces of Hormozgan, Kurdistan, East and West Azerbaijan, Kermanshah, Sistan and Baluchestan, Bushehr and Khorasan Razavi are on alert.”

In Khorasan Razavi, the head of public relations of the University of Medical Sciences told the state TV, today, “The trend of people infected with COVID-19 has increased in some cities of Khorasan Razavi. According to the latest report of the Health Ministry, four cities of Khorasan Razavi, including Mashhad, Torbat-e-Jameh, Taybad, and Saleh-Abad, are currently red in terms of the prevalence of Coronavirus.”

In West Azerbaijan, the president of the University of Medical Sciences told the state-controlled news site, Khabar online, today, “The number of patients infected on June 6, 2020, was 345, i.e., four times the previous day and the highest since the beginning of the outbreak.”

In Khuzestan, the spokesman for Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences told the state news agency, IMNA, yesterday that the number of patients with Coronavirus in the last 24 hours was 829, and the total number of patients was 19,910.

In Kurdistan, the head of the Province’s management and planning organization told the IRGC affiliated news agency, Fars, yesterday, “The cities of Sanandaj, Qorveh and Marivan do not have a favorable situation in terms of the spread of the virus. The situation of the two cities of Sanandaj and Qorveh is red, and the more we move forward, the more critical it becomes.”

Today, in Isfahan, the vice-president of the University of Medical Sciences told IRNA, “All hospitals, including public, private, charitable, and affiliated with organizations and social security must be prepared to accept acute respiratory patients. At present, in Isfahan Province, the city of Fereydun Shahr is in a red situation.”

In South Khorasan, the president of the University of Medical Sciences announced a “significant increase in the number of positive cases of Coronavirus in the province” and declared “Birjand and Nehbandan counties red,” reported IRNA, yesterday.

In Yazd, the vice-president of the University of Medical Sciences told the state-run news agency, Mehr, yesterday, “Suspicious cases and people with COVID-19 are increasing in the Province, and soon, all areas of Yazd Province will be in the red zone again.”

Yesterday, the President of the University of Medical Sciences in Hormozgan quoted by the Fars news agency, “announced the identification of 341 new cases of Coronavirus infection, saying the ward for Coronavirus patients in Bandar Abbas is full.” The Governor of Hormozgan told IRNA today, “Coronavirus patients have increased by ten times compared to March.” According to the state-run news agency, ISNA, today, the head of the Bandar Abbas Great Prophet’s Medical Complex announced the number of Coronavirus patients admitted in June was 2.5 times May.

In Sistan and Baluchestan, the president of Zahedan University of Medical Sciences told the state-run media outlet, Iran-Online, yesterday, “The prevalence of the disease in the Province has changed significantly in recent weeks … Now the number of hospitalizations has reached 70 to 80 per day … Currently, most cities are red.”

In Kermanshah, the Governor told the IRNA yesterday, “Coronavirus’ second wave is more visible. In the first wave, a maximum of 194 hospital beds were occupied in the Province, but with the beginning of the second wave, the number of hospital beds allocated to Coronavirus patients have reached 312.”

Meanwhile, according to IRGC affiliated website, Javan, in a meeting of the Tehran Crisis Management Coordination Council yesterday, the Director-General of Urban Services of Tehran Municipality said, “Tehran Municipality has 10,000 graves prepared daily to respond appropriately to possible crises such as earthquakes. [This is in] addition to a separate section in which we have prepared 15,000 graves.”
