IRAN’S REGIME IS USING CORONAVIRUS TO TORTURE POLITICAL PRISONERS
Iran’s prisons and detention centers were one of the most vulnerable centers hit by coronavirus due to regime’s criminal negligence.

 According to reports received from prisoners, especially those who are detained for political reasons in Fashafouyeh, Evin, Gohardasht, Ghezelhesar, Urumia, Sheyban Ahwaz and Kashan prison are infected to coronavirus.

Instead of quarantine, they are taken to unknown places

According to regime officials, several prisons have much more inmates than their capacity allows. The halls and washrooms are filled with people. This is while the regime doesn’t provide prisoners with the minimum facilities. There is no health masks and disinfectants. The prisoners in Ghezelhesar are even without soap and detergent.

CORONAVIRUS FATALITIES IN 182 CITIES EXCEED 4,900
Regime officials acknowledge surge in the outbreak, exhaustion of medical staff, risk of popular uprising

 

The Peoples Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced this afternoon, Sunday, March 15, 2020, that the number of Coronavirus victims in 182 cities across Iran exceeds 4,900. In addition to other provinces, the number of victims in Tehran is 696, in Gilan 657, in Mazandaran 424, in Golestan 343, in Khuzestan 170, in Hamadan 44, in Ardabil 42, and in Kashan is 210.

WHAT ARE THE IRAN PROTESTS OF 2019?

Monday, March 16, 2020, marks the 123rd day since the beginning of the nationwide Iran protests.

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) has identified 755 of the more than 1500 protesters killed by the regime so far.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has called on the United Nations to urgently send an international fact-finding mission to Iranian prisons to meet with the detainees.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE UPRISING:

Number of uprising cities: 191

Number of martyrs: At least 1500

Number of injured: More than 4,000

Number of detainees: More than 12,000
