Mother of slain activist in Iran demands release of political prisoners

NCRI – The mother of a slain political activist has sent a message supporting mothers of political detainees and has demanded the release of families of all political prisoners.

Ms. Saltanat Rezai said the Iranian regime cannot even tolerate expression of solidarity with the mothers of detainees.

Her son, Farzad Kamangar, was a dissident teacher who was executed in May 2010 by the clerical regime.

Ms. Rezai said in her message this week, “I have said many times that we are proud mothers, not mourning mothers.”

“We are proud for having such children, the cream of the crop in this land, who have spent the best years of their lives in prison or in my son’s case have give their lives in order to free their people.”
