NCRI – A leader of al-Iraqiya coalition in the Iraqi parliament reiterated the call on the United Nations to declare Camp Liberty as a refugee camp. He said “It is catastrophic that all restrictions and pressures are currently being imposed on the on the residents under the pretext that the camp is named as a Temporarly Transit Location.”
In an interview with Arabic Language Almalaf news website on Sunday (January 20, 2013), Mr Talal Al Zubaie said : “al-Iraqiya considers these people as guests and their rights should not be violated.”
He welcomed the stay of members of the People’s Mojahedin Organiztion of Iran (PMOI/MEK) in Iraq if they wish so.
In late December 133 members of Iraqi Parliament in a letter to UN Secretary General asked for Camp Liberty to be declared a refugee camp under supervision of the High Commission of Refugees and for guaranteed rights of residents to sell their properties at Camp Ashraf, Arabic language service of Agence France Presse reported on January 1, 2013 from Baghdad.
