The mullahs’ regime started a new wave of crackdown against students who resumed protests across the country on Saturday, October 29, the 44th day of the nationwide uprising. IRGC and MOIS agents attacked some universities in Tehran and other cities and arrested a large number of students.

In Tehran, suppressive forces surrounded the Technical Faculty – Fardis 2 and severely beat the students. They blocked Amirabad Street towards the university and controlled all university entrances by stationing a large number of State Security Forces (SSF), trying to find active students inside the campus. In the university dormitory, the security forces opened fire at the students protesting in support of students inside the campus with shotguns and paintballs.

In Arak, suppressive forces attacked Amir Kabir’s dormitory at Azad University, firing shotgun pellets and tear gas, which was met with students’ resistance. In Mashhad, the special guard surrounded Azad University; people and students’ families gathered outside the university to save the besieged students. Suppressive forces attacked the dormitory of Borujerdi University in the city of Borujerd, western Iran, and arrested a number of students. Ununiformed agents entered Khorasgan Azad University in Isfahan province and arrested several students.

Suppressive forces surrounded Sanandaj University and fired tear gas at the students. The students confronted Basij forces chanting, “This year is the year of sacrifice; Seyed Ali (Khamenei) will be overthrown.” The university had turned into a battlefield. Students’ families and a group of people gathered in front of the university and chanted, “Death to Khamenei.” They managed to open the university gate and enter. In Qazvin, suppressive forces attacked the students’ dormitory and severely beat and arrested some students.

Students staged their protests in numerous universities across the country, including Tehran University, Sharif, Science and Industry, Pars Art and Architecture, Azad Tehran West, Jundi Shapur Medical Sciences, Amir Kabir, Qazvin International, Kurdistan Medical Sciences, Tehran Technical College, Bahoner in Kerman, Gohardasht in Karaj, Khajeh Nasir, Technical in Kermanshah, Tehran Research Sciences, Lorestan, Ferdowsi in Mashhad, Melli University, Art and Architecture of Shahrak Gharb, Azad -North Branch, Azad – Sohank Branch, Technical in Karaj, Yazd, Mohaghegh Ardabili, Tehran Science and Culture, Tehran Medical Sciences, Tarbiat Modarres, Sahand in Tabriz, Kharazmi- Tehran Branch, Medical Sciences of Hormozgan, Azad in Shahr-Quds, Payam Noor in Marivan, Kashan, Al-Zahra in Tehran, Persian Gulf University, Tehran Faculty of Psychology, Noshirvani in Babol, Kharazmi in Karaj, Sanandaj Medical Sciences, Art in Tehran, Nursing in Karaj, Allamah, and Fatemieh Girls dormitory in Tehran.

On Saturday night, many areas of Tehran, including Tehran Pars, South Bahar, Saadat Abad, Ferdous Boulevard, Kashani St., and the first square of Sadeghieh, were the scenes of protests and hit-and-run clashes with suppressive forces. Young people in Quds city staged night protests and broke surveillance cameras.

In Fereydoun Shahr, people gathered outside the justice department to protest the arrest of their children. In Saveh, Markazi Province, youths set fire to a gas station. In Jonaqan, people protested at night and blocked the roads. In Borujerd, western Iran, suppressive forces opened fire on the people and started a fight between them and the youth in Jafari Square. The people of Lashte Nesha in Rasht, northern Iran, staged a street protest chanting, “Death to Khamenei.” One of the protestors was shot.

In Isfahan, night protests were held in Sepah, Ahmadabad, Zainabieh, and Charbagh streets. People blocked the road by burning tires and made the regime’s agents run away using Molotov cocktails. In Borujerd, youths set fire to two motorbikes of police forces. In Piranshahr, locals staged their protest, and youths attacked the home of one of the regime’s mercenaries. In Bukan, night protest was accompanied by setting a fire, blocking the road, and fighting with suppressive forces. In Arak, people attacked suppressive forces and made them flee. The people of Marivan staged a night protest and clashed with suppressive forces. Protesters destroyed the statue of Qasem Soleimani in Marivan. In Lahijan, northern Iran, security forces opened fire at people who had staged a night protest. In Neyshabur, northeast Iran, youths torched a regime’s seminary.
