In a major rally held in Paris’ Trocadero Square, the Iranian community in France announced its support for the Iran protests that have shaken Iran since November 15. A brutal crackdown on the uprising by the regime’s security forces has left at least 600 protesters dead.

The Esplanade of Human Rights, close to Palais de Chaillot where the UN General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948, was covered with tri-color Iranian flags and pictures of the martyrs of the uprising.

Supporters of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI), also known as the Mujahedin-e-Khalq (MEK), were accompanied by members of the French National Assembly (French Parliament), councilors and mayors as well as dignitaries representing different regions of France.

“The blood of over 600 rebellious youths, the cries of 12,000 arrested youths detained in Khamenei’s torture chambers, and the cries of a rebellious nation from across Iran call on the world to stand up to the religious fascism,” she stressed.

Mrs. Rajavi affirmed that the uprising in November showed that the regime is not capable of containing the roaring tides of protests and social rebellion, and that the Iranian people will never give in.

This uprising will carry on until it overthrows the entire clerical regime; this uprising will continue until freedom and popular sovereignty are established in #Iran. #IranProtestshttps://www.maryam-rajavi.com/en/item/maryam-rajavi-message-iranians-rally-paris-uprising-struggle-overthrow-mullahs …

“The conditions will not revert back to the pre-uprising equilibrium. Horrified by the looming specter of being overthrown, the mullahs are resorting to outrageous crimes. Khamenei has ordered his mercenaries to shoot directly at youths in the streets. Rouhani has praised the criminal repressive forces,” she added.

Mrs. Rajavi said that the uprising is durable, and the regime is not able to contain the protests and prevent the rising of Rebellious Cities, the Resistance Units and the great Liberation Army.

“This uprising will carry on until it overthrows the entire clerical regime; this uprising will continue until freedom and popular sovereignty are established in Iran,” she said.

Mrs. Rajavi expressed regret that the international community has not responded properly to the crimes against humanity that are currently going on in Iran.

“The European Union must stop its appeasement of the clerical regime. No concessions should be granted to a regime that slaughters protesters and breaches its commitments to the JCPOA, one after the other. The EU must pull the trigger of UN Security Council sanctions against this barbaric dictatorship which is a threat to global and regional peace and security,” she concluded.

“We are all here today to support the Iranian people, who has but one aspiration, liberty for Iran,” said Michèle de Vaucouleurs, Head of the Parliamentary Committee for a Democratic Iran in the French National Assembly.

Jean-Francois Legaret, Mayor of Paris’ 1st District, said that the oppressed people of Iran had no way out of the situation other than revolt.

“The masks our off the faces. [The regime’s President Hassan] Rouhani is not a reformist. We cannot negotiate with a barbarous regime. Those in charge of crimes against humanity should be put to trial,” added the mayor.

“I call on President Emmanuel Macron to take the initiative of missioning a fact-finding commission to Iran for visiting the prisons. The EU should cease the mullahs’ repression against democracy,” affirmed Jacques Boutault, Mayor of Paris’ 2nd District.

Several members of the Iranian community, including NCRI members, addressed the gathering.
