Iran regime resorts to use of Afghan mercenary forces against protesters in Karaj

Demonstrations and popular protests and clashes swept through Tehran, Karaj, Shiraz, Isfahan and other cities in Iran for the fourth consecutive day.

Iranian regime forces are visibly under stress and unable to cope with the escalating uprising in cities such as Karaj. They have resorted to deploying Afghan proxy forces called the Fatemiyoun, formed to fight regime proxy wars in Syria, against the local population.

Iranian regime’s president, Hassan Rouhani, watching the portending disintegration of the regime’s control, in an attempt to raise the morale of dispirited suppressive forces, cynically commented, “I have seen films of many of these [protests] myself. Their numbers are clear how many they are… not many.”

Extensive demonstrations and clashes had already started in Karaj on Sunday afternoon and continued into the early hours of Monday until about 4 am. In the past three days, protesters set ablaze about 50 state-owned banks, and many centers of suppression, security vehicles, and regime offices such as that of the Islamic Development Organization and the Bassij base in the metal suppliers bazaar of the city. Most of the city is out of the control of security forces and under the protesters sway. People have blocked roads and thoroughfares leading to the protected area.

Young protesters have downed electric poles and city lighting to create roadblocks on most roads. All stores and shops have shut down and petrol stations are not working.

In the major south-central Iranian city of Shiraz, young insurgent forces have burnt down most state banks as symbols of regime plunder and taken over chain convenience stores owned by the IRGC. Some police stations have fallen under popular control. Security forces have resorted to direct live fire at demonstrators killing some protesters as a result. Regime helicopters are circling the city in an attempt to locate insurgent activities and coordinate suppression.
