Iran Regime to Unveil 112 Nuclear Achievements

‌By Shahriar Kia

The Iranian regime is the biggest state sponsor of terrorism in the world. It could also be described as the most belligerent regime in the world, and certainly the one that presents the biggest threat to peace and security.

The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPoA) was agreed in 2015 and its purpose is to neutralise the nuclear threat that Iran presented. However, the deal has been a failure as it has done nothing but embolden Iran’s belligerence in the regime.

U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the United States would be exiting the deal in 2018 and he listed a number of Iran’s malign activities that are ongoing. He pointed to Iran’s continued ballistic missile testing, its disregard of human rights, its support of terrorist militias and proxy groups, its meddling in the internal affairs of other nations, and so on. The most pertinent point made by Trump was that the nuclear deal does not eliminate the nuclear threat, rather it guarantees a nuclear arms race in the region.

A spokesperson for the Atomic Energy Organisation of the Iranian regime (AEOI) recently announced that the country would be unveiling over a hundred nuclear technology achievements. Behrouz Kamalvandi said that by unveiling these 112 achievements, the Iranian regime will be sending a message to the United States and other enemies that the country has been able to overcome the economic sanctions. Kamalvandi also said that Iran has turned threats from the United States into “opportunities”.

These so-called achievements will be presented on National Nuclear Technology Day on April9th. It holds this event every year to showcase its advances. Last year, Iran revealed more than 80 technologies.

The spokesperson said that the United States has been waging “economic war” on the country, but he is confident that the country would be able to get past this, warning that it would use what it needs to neutralise the pressure.

Leader of the Iranian dictatorship, Ali Khamenei, also said that the people of Iran must engage in “maximum mobilisation” and stand up to the pressure being exerted from the United States, which he described as “hostile”.

The people of Iran have been putting an immense amount of domestic pressure on the regime – ensuring that the protests and anti-government demonstrations that started in December 2017 continue. Although they have been negatively impacted by the economic sanctions and resulting economic pressure, the people of Iran know that they must endure some hard times before they will ever have a chance of freedom, democracy and the respect of human rights.

The collapse of the regime is the only solution. Time and time again, the regime has passed on the opportunity to change its direction towards one that would benefit the country and its people. But time and time again, the regime chooses to continue on the malign path of terrorism and the spread of chaos that allows it to move forward with its plans for regional hegemony. The whole world will benefit from the regime’s collapse.
