Iran: Families of prisoners protest outside Qezel-Hesar prison

NCRI – Members of families of prisoners gathered outside Qezel-Hesar prsion in the city of Karaj to prevent execution of 11 prisoners.

The authorities transferred at least 11 prisoners from their cells to solitary confinements on Monday to execute them.

Following their transfer over 1,000 prisoners began a hunger strike to protest the execution of their cellmates.

In bid to disperse the families who had gathered outside prison, the authorities have told them the execution of 11 prisoners had been postponed.

The 11 prisoners had been sentenced to death by Mohammad Moghiseh who has been a member of “The death commission” responsible for massacre of political prisoners in 1988.
