A leader of the al-Iraqiya List, which came out as the winner of last March’s parliamentary elections in Iraq, described the Iranian regime’s meddling in Iraq as profound and extensive, adding that it must be stopped.
Osama al-Najifi said Tehran’s meddling requires an international response.
In an interview with al-Arabiya TV on Wednesday, al-Najifi was asked if all sides are opposed to the meddling why do they not unite to form a government?
Al-Najifi responded, “Some political forces have links to regional countries and especially Iran and are trying to prevent the implementation of the law. Iran opposes the premiership of Allawi and this counts as a flagrant example of interfering in Iraq’s internal affairs.”
