Maryam Rajavi: Pioneering Women and a Generation of Men Who Seek Freedom and Equality- on the Occasion of
An international conference was held in Tirana, Albania, on the occasion of the International Women's Day.
Maryam Rajavi, political personalities and activists of the equality movement from various countries participated. The conference entitled, "Women in Political Leadership", featured speeches on the threat of the mullahs' fundamentalist and misogynous tyranny in Iran, the Iranian women's resistance against the regime and the trailblazing role of the vanguard heroines of Ashraf. Maryam Rajavi made the following remarks to the conference.
The Iranian regime hanged 18 prisoners over the past three days in various cities. On March 6, two young prisoners in the prison of Sari, two other prisoners, including a 70 year old man in Orumiyeh Central Prison and two others in the prison of Garmsar were hanged.
Iran: The story of proxy militias
Iran’s destructive role across the Middle East has become common knowledge and crystal clear for all. With only three months to go until the next elections in Iran, the regime is facing crisis after crisis. Iran was fiercely criticised at the recent Munich Security Conference and tension is rising with Turkey. There have also been severe dust storms that have put parts of the country into grave danger. And of course, the new administration in Washington is complicating matters for Iran.
In January, a young woman in Iran committed suicide. Now, sadly, suicides have become increasingly common among Iranian women due to a variety of social ills, including state-mandated misogyny. NCRI - Mazandaran’s Department of Environment has complained against the mayors in the province for accumulating nearly 200 tons of waste in northern forests each day. With the waste leachate penetrating the groundwater resources, Mazandaran province has now the highest rate of gastrointestinal cancer in the country.

The protest of hundreds of workers of Iran National Steel Industries in Ahvaz, Khuzestan continued on February 28th for its eighteenth day in front of the governor’s office. They are protesting non-payment of their salary and benefits for five months as well as the uncertain future of their job and factory situation.
